I am starting a monthly residency at The Tranzac Club! The first date is November 12th from 1:30-2:30 and I will be joined by my friend and bandmate Asa. Then things will switch to the 3rd Saturday of the month (December 17, January 21st) with a new guest each month. Pay What You Can! 292 Brunswick Ave., Toronto, Ontario M5S 2M7
I met Asa in Junior Kindergarten and we became best friends. After a couple of years we ended up at different schools and eventually lost touch before re-connecting at a Junior Beekeepers class where we discovered we both have a passion for bees and making music.
We are both appearing in the new Kinnie Starr produced documentary on women in music called “Play Your Gender” being featured on November 11th at 3:30pm as part of the Hamilton Film Festival. We will be following the screening with a free (pay what you can) show at This Ain’t the Hollywood. Doors at 6, music from 6:30-7:30pm.
Find out more about the documentary here: www.playyourgender.com and the film festival here: www.hamiltonfilmfestival.com
Additionally, I will be playing with Kingdom of Birds on December 10th at D Beatstro opening for Come Back Barbara (all ages show) and on December 11th at 4 pm at the Dakota Tavern.
I don’t have a lot of shows on the horizon right now but I will be playing as part of Girls Rock Camp at the Green Line Fundraiser on March 31st. I will also start busking around town and am looking into hosting a “Best of Sugar Mountain” show in April sometime. If you are looking to book me for a show, I would love to open for some other musicians and bookings can happen through: email@example.com
Another fantastic Sugar Mountain Sunday. This youth driven, youth featured open mic will take place twice a month. We are taking time off for the March Break however and the next event will take place on March 30th. It is so inspiring to see so many talented and musical young people getting a venue to show off our stuff.
It will be another few weeks before I launch my own indiegogo campaign to make an EP. It is exciting getting it ready and drawing up a budget and thinking of cool perks for my funders. If you are feeling super generous and also want to help the amazing Pins & Needles to put out a full length LP, consider supporting them so they can reach their goal.
